Student Council

Part of the FIS social education involves interacting with the community and learning about social responsibility. Our Student Councils in the Middle School and  High School give students the opportunity to learn about effective self-governance while developing their communication and leadership skills.

The Student Council's goals are to develop leadership skills; refine communication skills; foster school spirit and pride; build supportive working relationships with each other and the staff; and organize activities to raise funds for charitable organizations.

Through the Student Council, FIS students have the possibility to initiate activities and express their personal interests to the benefit of themselves, the school and the community.

Each Student Council consists of eight elected members.  The four officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer are elected from among the whole Middle School or High School student body.  Additionally, each class (Grades 5-8, and 9-10 for HS Student Council) has representatives which are elected from within the class group.
