The registration fee of 300€ per student is an annual fee. The initial registration fee must be submitted with the application packet. This fee is non-refundable except when the student cannot be accepted by the school. It should be paid by bank transfer. Payment of the registration fee does not assure admission to the school.
Re-registration fees of 300€ per returning student will be applied to the tuition invoice for the upcoming school year.
The capital development fee does not apply to the Kindergarten.
The capital development fee for new entries as of the school year 2008/2009 for the school is:
1st year of admission: 4.000 €
Following three years (per year): 800 €
The capital development fee is used for improvements and for expansion of the school’s facilities. It is payable by August 1, 2008 or immediately upon enrollment in case of mid-year entry. The capital development fee is not refundable upon withdrawal of the child from the school.
Students re-enrolling at the FIS after an absence of one or more full years will be considered to be in their second year at the FIS in regards to the capital development fees.

V. Multiple Student Tuition Reduction
A 40% reduction of tuition fees is applicable to the fourth and any subsequent child enrolled in Grades 1 – 12 at the FIS. This reduction does not apply to students in the Kindergarten.
Multiple student reduction(s) will be applied towards the tuition of the youngest student(s) enrolled in the school.
The multiple student tuition reduction is not applicable to the transportation, capital development and registration fees.
An annual 5% reduction in tuition fees is available once a student begins his/her fifth full consecutive year at the FIS, excluding the years in Kindergarten. This bonus will apply to all further full consecutive years they are enrolled at the FIS.
Mid-year enrollments will not be applied towards the loyalty bonus.
VII. Transportation Fee
This fee depends upon the distance the children are transported to and from the school. Corresponding fees are given on a separate schedule.
Fees are due by August 1, 2008. No student will be admitted to the school until all of the requirements of the payment schedule have been met as outlined below.
Payment in full of the (re-)registration fee, capital development fee, tuition fee and any applicable bus fee must be received by August 1 and must be paid by bank transfer only. Payment in cash or by check is not permitted. Payments received prior to August 1 are eligible for an early payment reduction of 3% of tuition fees. The early payment reduction does not apply to (re-) registration, capital development or bus fees.
The tuition and transportation fees may also be paid in eight monthly installments between August 1 and March 1.
Payment in monthly installments requires a direct debit withdrawal authority to be completed and returned to the school by no later than July 15. The direct debit withdrawal authority has to be renewed each year. The first installment will be withdrawn on August 1 and the final installment will be withdrawn on March 1. Payment in cash, check or by bank transfer is not permitted.
The registration and capital development fees cannot be paid in monthly installments and will be withdrawn with the first tuition installment on August 1.
Mid-year enrollment payment schedule
School fees for students enrolling mid-school year must be paid in full at the time of enrollment and are not eligible for early payment reduction.
The Middle and High School one-week field trips are mandatory and included in the cost of tuition.
Other charges (e. g. single-day field trips, lunch, optional programs) will be invoiced separately for those participating.
X. Cases of Financial Need
Only the Board’s Presidential Committee can reduce tuition fees. Consideration requires the following items:
q Completed “Request for a Reduction of FIS Tuition Fees” form – available from the office
q Copy of a current and representative pay slip for each working parent or other proof of current income
q Copies of the last 2 years tax declarations and/or representative tax card
q Other documents on an as needed basis
Applications for fee reductions should be submitted prior to the start of the new school year. They will be treated confidentially.
The maximum reduction is 50% of the school tuition fees. Tuition reduction does not apply to Kindergarten. A reduction is only valid for one year and application for reductions for further school years must be made in the same manner.
Decisions regarding fee reductions will not be finalized before the start of the school year. Families applying for reductions must initially pay the full fees. Where applicable, reimbursement will be issued in the amount of the fee reduction.
