Admissions Procedure

  1. Download the required Application for Admission form (Acrobat Reader necessary) or contact the school office to receive the forms by post.
  2. Complete and sign the Application for Admission.
  3. Post the forms to the school office together with:

*      Registration fee of 260 euro per student (100 euro for Kindergarten).

*      Student records in English or German, including a copy of the most recent report card.

*      an expected date of admission and an idea of when you will arrive in Germany.

*      copy of birth certificate

  1. The FIS provides the family of each applicant with an academic information form (can be downloaded here) which must be filled in by the previous school and the parents.  This form aids the school in grade placement and should be submitted along with or shortly after the application for admission.
  2. During the month of March each year, re-registration of existing students for the next school year takes place.  Once this process is complete the administration knows how many places will be available to new students.
  3. Personal interviews may be scheduled with each new family and student before a decision on acceptance into the FIS is made. The decision on acceptance is a FIS management decision
  4. The FIS may ask to perform an informal screening for a prospective student, or require placement tests in some subjects.
  5. In the month of June (before Easter for Kindergarten), you will be contacted by post, either with a letter of acceptance or a letter stating that your child’s name has been placed in a waiting pool.
  6. Please note:

*        unless all the required data and fees are submitted, the application cannot be processed.

*        Mid-year entry is possible on a space available basis.  Families wishing to enroll their children mid-year should follow the process above, and will be contacted directly once we have received the application for admission and all pertinent documentation as listed above.

*        The FIS reserves the right to have a trial period for a new student before granting full acceptance into the program.
